7-Year-Old Zora Ball Is the World’s Youngest Game Programmer
The youngest person to create a full version of a mobile application video game. A first grader at Philadelphia’s Harambee Institute of Science and Technology Charter School, she’s already more accomplished than everyone you know.
Ball built the app in the Bootstrap programming language, and unveiled her game at FATE’s “Bootstrap Expo” at the University of Pennsylvania.
Apparently some grumpy olds were suspicious that her older brother was really the mastermind behind the program, but Zora showed them. When asked to reconfigure the app on the spot, Ball showed naysayers what was up when she executed the request perfectly.
“We expect great things from Zora, as her older brother, Trace Ball, is a past STEM Scholar of the Year,” said Harambee Science Teacher Tariq Al-Nasir. No pressure, baby geniuses, but there’s an entire world for you to save. Please hurry.

So I was listening to Ke$ha while doing a warmup, reminiscing on how many robot girls/girls with robot parts I used to draw as a teenager… and this resulted int Ke$ha with robot arms
and the second sketch is, what I feel, that idea taken to it’s inevitable conclusion
Beyonce with robot legs. Not that she needs them.
I do not have the time to indulge in fleshing these concepts out and making an illustration. I do not. Life is so hard.

Underground Icon Wesley Wills Joyrides Into DC Comics As Wonder Woman’s Half-Brother
By Dylan Todd
While everybody’s been talking about the New 52 debut of Jack Kirby’s Orion in the pages of Brian Azzarello and Cliff Chiang’s Wonder Woman, a far more exciting character debuted in the DC Comics title over the last couple of issues. Wonder Woman #15 introduced the newly redesigned Orion, but along with him was Milan, a son of Zeus and, it would follow, Wonder Woman’s half-brother.What makes this supporting player so interesting is that Milan bears a strong resemblance to an underground icon, singer-songwriter, and lover of joyrides, the late Wesley Willis. For those familiar with Willis’ oeuvre, this development truly whips the llama’s ass with a belt.

The Dapper Rebels of Los Angeles, 1966

In the summer of 1965, riots broke out in the Watts neighborhood of southern Los Angeles. Over a six-day period, 34 people were killed, 1,032 injured and over 3,438 arrests were made. In 1966, LIFE magazine revisited the site of the worst riots America had ever seen in its history. The photo essay depicting the region’s ‘fearsome street gangs’ however, turned out more like a fashion shoot for dapper style…

This article is such an interesting look at the history of black fashion, quintessential “Los Angeles” style, and how we perceive early gang culture. I’m fascinated with the pride of dress shown by the “dapper rebels” and the dignity presented in their portraits and photos.

Marceline and the Scream Queens #5 is out Wednesday, Nov. 14th! Pick it up for more awesomeness from Meredith Gran, PLUS a backup comic by the incredible Polly Guo.

I don’t have a sketch for this one, but you might notice that the location of Marceline’s teethmarks had to be changed after my lineart was sent to Lisa Moore to color.

Weird to think that Adventure Time’s target demo was probably in utero or a sparkle in someone’s eye when this album came out…

:D

gonna get at this asap
